In the live performance »THE POOL - UNITED WAVE« performers and dancers of the digital performance network THE POOL meet in persona after 2 months of artistic virtual dialogue and confrontation with the consequences of contact restrictions and anti-socializing effects causes by the pandemic in a digital rehearsal space.
In a secluded spot in Brandenburg's nature close to pulsing city of berlin arose a delicately eruptive musical ceremony and touching celebration of physical encounter. Memories and traces of isolation, anxiety and loneliness begin to fade in the fluid improvisational dialogue of 4 human beings and nature whilst breathing, moving and pulsing together.
To foster the priciples of participation and connection the rehearsal process as well as the performance were open to the public via facebook group live stream.

A DIGITAL PERFORMANCE + LOS ANGELES - VIENNA - COLOGNE + 2019-2021
»WITHOUT RISK, THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO ACCESS« started in july 2019 with a two month long research period in Los Angeles, investigating the effects of excessive self-optimization and the creation of superimposed medialized alter egos as a contradiction to an ubiquitous loneliness. In the first part of the performance trilogy RIO WILL used the installation/headshot series »ICONS OF LIGHT« to play with different narratives about his personality and the plan to publish one of the portraits on a billboard at Sunset Boulevard.
Despite the travel warnings and lockdown due to COVID-19 the performance continued from August until December 2020 in Vienna and Cologne. Oscillating between both cities RIO WILL examined the isolating and perturbing effects of contact and travel restrictions, lockdown-caused cultural closures and the time spent in quarantine on the background of todays medialized lifestyle.
From January 2021 until January 2022 the performance was open to the digital audience. The third part takes place on social media platforms and will include the exhibition of part I + II.
